Re-Zoning Proposed for Brookland Site
The Bennett Corporation has applied to rezone the property located at 700 Monroe Street NE Property from the MU-3A zone to the MU-2 zone. The 18,570-square-foot site is currently home to a three-story office building. The MU-2 zone is specifically “intended to permit medium-density development in areas predominantly developed with residential buildings but also permitting non-residential buildings.” The new zoning would allow for a building height of up to 90 feet with a max FAR of 6.0 (7.2 w/IZ) or 3.5 max. for nonresidential use.
