Sketch Plan Approved for Ellsworth Place Apartment Tower
The Montgomery County Planning Board has approved GBT Realty's sketch plan to construct a 20-story apartment tower above the existing Ellsworth Place Shopping Center along Colesville Road in Silver Spring. The development would include 450 apartments, with 15% designated affordable. Pedestrian access to the new tower was planned and constructed in 1991 when an office tower was originally planned to be added to the mall.
