South Coast Improvement Company expands office space at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business

Boston University’s Questrom School of Business has expanded its’ available Class A office space with a $240,000 renovation by South Coast Improvement Company, a locally-based design, construction and construction management expert. South Coast has expertly converted three open reception areas into private offices for senior staff members, ensuring that the business school can continue to attract top leadership and furthering business education in Boston. The result is state-of-the-art office space with new ceilings, flooring, walls, doors and finishes. A new, smaller reception area has been added within the space as well.

The new offices are located across the fifth and sixth floors of the business school’s existing building at 595 Commonwealth Avenue in the Fenway neighborhood, steps from Kenmore Square. During construction, South Coast successfully coordinated work with the busy schedules of business school staff and students, restricting noisy work to after 5 PM and before 8 AM.

South Coast often began noisier tasks such as drilling, cutting, coring and fire alarm installation as early as 4 AM, or performed the tasks into the late night. Daytime hours were used for quieter work such as painting and electrical installation, as well as delivery of construction materials and measurements in order to ensure that the South Coast team would be ready to perform noisier work as soon as the schedule allowed.

The resulting Class A office space features trendy, modern finishes, is designed for optimal productivity and will serve the business school for years to come. The following are photographs of the completed office space:
