Studio G Architects Selected as Architect for Maurice’s Campground Affordable Housing Project

Studio G Architects, a Boston-based architecture firm known for its commitment to sustainability and community enhancement, announced today its selection as the architect for the Maurice’s Campground Planning project in Wellfleet, MA. The project aims to create a plan for the transformation of the 21-acre campground into a vibrant community with a mix of homes at varying levels of affordability, as well as non-residential uses, through a robust community engagement process.

Studio G Architects will spearhead the master planning service for the expansive property recently acquired by the Town of Wellfleet. The redevelopment effort is poised to offer a diverse range of housing options, including affordable rentals, year-round home ownership, and seasonal workforce housing, catering to the varied needs of the community. Studio G is working collaboratively on this endeavor with community planner JM Goldsen, civil engineer and landscape architect Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc, and financial/development consultant Boston Communities.

The project will prioritize addressing housing needs across different demographics and income levels, maximizing housing opportunities while maintaining the character of Wellfleet. Studio G aims to achieve this by incorporating Smart Growth principles for sustainable development, minimizing environmental impact, and promoting renewable energy solutions. Additionally, the project aims to support residents' recreational and vocational needs, ensuring a well-rounded and inclusive community environment.

Studio G Architects is collaborating with the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Community Development Partnership (CDP) at the Residences at Lawrence Hill project in Wellfleet, scheduled to commence construction this summer.
