Superstructure Rises for Lincoln Square Homeless Shelter
Concrete subcontractor, RC Structures, has now formed the first few floors of a 9-story, shelter building, going up at 537 West 59th Street in Manhattan's Lincoln Square neighborhood.
Developed by Project Renewal and The Hudson Companies, the building will contain 200 beds for single, adult homeless women. Plans also call for a landscaped exterior courtyard, a roof terrace, a library, a wellness center, and social services offices.
Designed by Dattner Architects, the structure will stand 98 feet tall and total 50,867 square feet. Broadway Builders LLC is serving as the project's general contractor.
