Tampa Electric Closes on Space in Midtown Tampa East

Tampa Electric Company has paid the developers $11.8 million for 11 commercial office condominiums in Midtown Tampa East. Tampa Electric and People’s Gas will be the anchor tenants, occupying 296,000 square feet of the 18-story, 430,000 square foot tower. Developers Bromley Companies and Highwoods will own floors 10-15, 134,000 square feet, and ground level retail space. Midtown Tampa East tower is the latest addition to Midtown Tampa.  Comprised of roughly 22 acres, the Midtown Tampa Development opened in March 2021 creating a new residential and commercial district, uniting Downtown Tampa and the Westshore Business District. Located only four miles from Tampa International Airport the site has excellent visibility and connectivity, situated southeast of Interstate 275 bordering Dale Mabry Highway, Cypress Street, and Himes Avenue. These major commercial thoroughfares are known as “Main and Main” within the community. All interior roads are private which is perfect for outdoor concerts and events.  Groundbreaking is expected in early 2023 with completion anticipated by the end of 2024.
