The Street Chestnut Hill To Host "The Street Open” Featuring a Pop-Up Pro Shop by SOLO Golf, a Mini Golf Course, Beer Garden and More

Just a stone’s throw away from this year’s U.S. Open Championship in Brookline, The Street Chestnut Hill is celebrating the major golfing event with The Street Open. Featuring a variety of special golf themed events and activations, The Street Open will include a pop-up Pro Shop by locally owned menswear brand, SOLO Golf, a mini golf course on The Green, an outdoor beer garden in partnership with local craft brewery, Jack’s Abby, as well as a book signing and Q&A with golf writer and author, Bob Harig. The Pro Shop by SOLO Golf is now open and The Street Open’s full schedule of activities will kick off on June 14 and run through June 19.

Whether attending the Championship or seeking a new outfit for their next round of golf, shoppers will find a curated selection of men’s golf apparel at The Pro Shop by SOLO Golf. Owned by husband and wife duo, Dan and Tessa Sullivan, SOLO Golf was founded to break the mold of the golf uniform, taking inspiration from their Northeast routes and introducing outerwear, layers, shirting and bottoms that transcend the course. The Pro Shop by SOLO Golf features the brand’s new summer line of tops, bottoms, layers and outerwear, including exclusive pieces inspired by 1913 U.S. Open champion and Brookline native, Francis Ouimet.

“I couldn’t be more excited to launch The Pro Shop in collaboration with The Street. It is such a fantastic opportunity to showcase our brand as well as other amazing makers in the golf space while the U.S. Open is being played in our backyard at The Country Club,” says Dan Sullivan, Co-Owner of SOLO Golf.

In addition to The Pro Shop by SOLO Golf, The Street Open will offer several family-friendly activities. During the U.S. Open weekend on Friday, June 17 (3pm – 7pm) and Saturday, June 18 (12 pm – 7pm), The Street will feature a 9-hole mini golf course on The Green with ticket proceeds benefiting The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, a local non-profit that awards need-based, annual college scholarships to those who have worked in golf. Tickets are $10 per group and tee times can be reserved in advance at www.thestreetchestnuthill.com/event/the-street-open-mini-golf.

On Sunday, June 19 from 12pm to 3pm, guests can head to The Street’s pop-up beer garden for great brews and entertainment. In partnership with Framingham based craft brewery, Jack’s Abby, the beer garden will offer a selection of beer in a variety of styles as well as complimentary snacks and to-go bites for purchase from some of The Street’s favorite eateries, including Bianca, Shake Shack, Chilacates, Legal Sea Foods, Davio’s, Juice Press, OddFellows Ice Cream Co., Pineapple Thai, Blue Bottle Coffee Co., The Bagel Table, Aquitaine, and Hummus v’Hummus (opening soon!), family-friendly games including mini-golf green, live streaming of the Championship, live music, and more.

“Whether stopping by on the way to the U.S. Open or spending the day with us, we’re looking forward to welcoming guests from near and far. From shopping at Solo GOLF to playing a round of mini golf, we will have so many fun ways to celebrate one of golf’s biggest events. The beer garden will also be a great way to spend Father’s Day this year,” says Alana Stein, General Manager of The Street Chestnut Hill.
