About North Square at The Mill District

North Square at The Mill District will be a new $47.5 million sustainably-designed, mixed-use and mixed-income community located on 5.3 acres three miles north of downtown Amherst, MA.
The project will construct two new buildings around a vibrant, new public square and will include a total of 130 new apartment residences and 22,000 square feet of first-floor retail, in addition to parking, open space and a playground.
Apartments at North Square at The Mill District will include 59 one-bedrooms, 58 two-bedrooms, and 13 three-bedrooms. 80% of apartments will be priced at market rates, and 20% (26 apartments) will be rented to households earning less than 50% of area median income (AMI). Resident amenities will include a fitness center, a resident lounge, and interior bicycle storage. Retail at North Square at The Mill District could include a café, a small restaurant, a gallery, a home furnishing store, a nail salon and/or a specialty clothing store. Construction of North Square at the Mill District is anticipated to commence in Spring 2018.
