The proposal is to construct a 13-story, 130-foot-tall, 102,844-sf mixed-use building. The existing building was constructed in 1924 and is located within the Uptown Tenderloin Historic District.
The proposed new building would include 115 dwelling units (88 studios and 27 one-bedroom units) and 1,442 sf of retail space above a two-level basement with parking for 21 vehicles, including one car share space.
In addition, the proposed parking garage would include two bicycle storage rooms providing 108 Class 1 bicycle spaces. Three street trees and seven Class 2 bicycle spaces would be installed along the site's O'Farrell Street frontage.
The project would include a total of 7,786 sf of open space, consisting of common open spaces on level2 and the roof, and some private balconies.
The project is developed by O'Farrell Towers Associates in association with Tenderloin Neighbourhood Development Corp. The tower is designed by Architects at Levy Design Partners and construction is by Cahill Contractors.
