About Stead Park Recreation Center

As the first Net-Zero Energy Ready Recreation Center in Washington, DC, this facility features the existing 1880s carriage house as the primary entry into the new community center. Will host a variety of programs to be inclusive to the entire community, including flexible spaces, social rooms (including a teen club,) and fitness areas. There will be a large solar canopy creating exterior plazas and covering indoor courtyards and play areas. All energy consumed will be supplied on-site by renewable sources.
Construction is expected to be complete in Fall 2023.
