The Adams Morgan Historic Hotel includes the restoration and preservation of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and the construction of a nine-story addition connected to the Church Building that will together be operated as a high-quality, full-service boutique hotel (The Line DC) with 227 rooms. The Church Building, which will be completely preserved and restored, will be the centerpiece of the Hotel. Accessed from the front steps off Euclid Street, the Church Building will host special events, meetings, culinary events and celebrations in distinct spaces. The hotel will also feature a rooftop star-gazing deck, a 10,000 sq. ft. gym and 8,000 spa/fashion boutique. The project may receive a 20-year property tax abatement (potential worth up to $46 million). A raze permit was issued in June 2014 to demolish a three-story brick building.
