Permit Details: Current soil boring permit is for proposed Soil Borings Only for a Geotechnical Exploration - We plan to drill three Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings, labelled B-1, B-2 and B-3 to maximum depths of 25 feet each. The borings will be drilled with 3.5-in hollow-stem augers creating a 6-in diameter boring hole. Borings will be located in the open space immediately east of the existing building. Upon completion of drilling we will backfill the borings with bentonite grout (2 lbs bentonite: 1 gal clean water). Site geology is (T2) late-Pliocene aged terrace -sedimentary deposits of gravel,sand,silt and clay. We do not anticipate penetrating any aquifer. Spoils will be containerized in 55-gal drums and shipped offsite for disposal in accordance with hazardous material protocol. The proposed site development (by others) ultimately will include demolition of the existing 1-story retail building and construction of a 4-story, slab-on-grade, mixed use retail and multi-family residential building.
