Established in 1925, The Red Coconut RV Campground was among the earliest commercial establishments constructed on Fort Myers Beach. The resort was well known for hosting the city’s first religious services, voting precinct, and police station. Being the only RV resort in Florida, it attracted historical trailblazers, including Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Charles Lindbergh, Alex Carrel, and James Newtown.
