Set to stand next to the Harlem Hospital complex on 137th Street in Harlem, Manhattan, the New York City Public Health Laboratory will be a cutting-edge facility operated by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). It will be tasked with protecting and promoting the health of all New Yorkers and keeping the city at the forefront of disease response and investigation. The 10-story building will contain 5 office floors, 5 laboratory floors, as well as clinical facilities. It will also have a 200-person auditorium and a walk-in testing center. The new building will replace the city's current public health laboratory.
