12-Story Residential Project Approved in Journal Square
The Jersey City Planning Board recently approved a 12-story, residential project, set for 44 Newkirk Street (aka 44-46 Newkirk Street) in Journal Square. Developed by , the building is set to contain rental apartments, offered in studio, one, and three-bedroom configurations.
Residents will have access to a 2,900-square-foot amenity space on the ground floor, as well as the rooftop, which will boast an outdoor pool, a green space, fire pits and picnic areas, and an indoor bar and event space. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space.
Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet altogether.
The square foot project site is zoned within the Journal Square 2060 Redevelopment Plan area. It currently sits vacant and unimproved.
