$307M Deal Reached at Newark Airport
Amazon has struck a $307 million deal with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for the lease of two existing cargo buildings (building 339 and building 340) at Newark Liberty International Airport. A $150 million payment would be provided upfront, with another $157 million being paid out over the life of the 20-year agreement. At the same time, Amazon will shell out $125 million to redevelop the buildings into a "state-of-the-art cargo campus". The deal is not official yet but is expected to go through later this year. If it does, the new campus will total 23 acres, with 250,000 sqft of cargo space.
