Hotel Marlowe in East Cambridge sold to Hong Kong investor for $81.75 million
Junson Capital of Hong Kong has acquired the 236-key Hotel Marlowe in East Cambridge for $81.75 million, part of an $800 million acquisition of a portfolio of United States hotels from MassMutual subsidiary Barings. The sale of the four-diamond Hotel Marlowe, managed by Intercontinental Hotel Group’s Kimpton Hotels, amounts to about $347,000 per key.
The hotel was completed in 2003 and is located along the Charles River next to the CambridgeSide Galleria mall, and steps from Kendall Square and the 45-acre, 4.5-million-square-foot Cambridge Crossing mixed-use development, future home of Philips’ United States headquarters. The hotel features a restaurant, Bambara Kitchen + Bar, on its’ ground floor, and amenities including a fitness center, a business center, a ballroom and a courtyard.
