Notice of Project Change Approved for Winthrop Center
The BPDA has approved the Notice of Project Change for the Winthrop Center Tower. With work on the site paused after an expected $800M construction loan fell through due to issues surrounding COVID-19, Millennium Partners filed the NPC last month. MP told the board, the changes will cut around $100M in construction costs and the adjustment of the residential units from apartments to condos will help secure the necessary funding. The approved changes include the elimination of the residential portion of the east tower, cutting the number of units from 387 to 321. The total building size will be reduced to 1.447M square feet with the office, and retail/connector space remaining the same.
