Office Tower Sells for $252M in the Financial District

A 30-story commercial tower, located at 175 Water Street in Manhattan's Financial District, has just been sold for $252 million. The Class-A structure was acquired by Dart Enterprises from the previous owner, Vanbarton Group, in a deal brokered by JLL.

Originally designed by Fox & Fowle Architects, it was constructed in 1983. It contains square feet of office space and square feet of retail, located on the ground floor.

The structure stands feet tall and totals square feet altogether.

175 Water Street was semi-infamously known as being the headquarters of multinational finance and insurance giant, AIG. As such, the tower has been used as a backdrop in many financial news reports over the years, most notably during the company's federal bailout in 2008. AIG moved out of the building in 2021.
