Work Begins for Redevelopment of the South Boston Power Plant
The redevelopment of the South Boston Edison Power Plant is underway with crews beginning site prep for the 1.68M square-foot development. The Feldman Geospatial team is currently using the ArtecLeo, a wireless 3D scanner, for a high-accuracy, reverse engineering scan of the Greek God Hermes carving on the Edison Building. The mixed-use project will include the adaptive reuse of 4 historic Turbine Halls and create 860,000 square feet of commercial space, 636 units of housing, a 240 room hotel, and over 5 acres of new public open space.
