Zoning Progress for 1042 Atlantic Avenue
A 17-story, mixed-use development, proposed for 1034-1042 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood has been creeping through the public review process for close to a year now. Developed by and designed by , the project would consist of 2-separate buildings, containing residential units combined.
Back in May of 2021, submitted an application requesting zoning map and text amendments, as well as a special permit to facilitate the new development. It has since been reviewed by Brooklyn Community Board 8, Brooklyn's Borough President, the City Planning Commission (CPC), and the City Council.
In addition, the City Council made modifications to the application and then sent it back to the CPC for approval. The CPC has now ok'd those changes, and the next step is for the application to be returned to the City Council. After this occurs, it will cross the desk of the NYC Mayor who can either veto the project or issue a final stamp of approval.
