With the site clear construction will soon begin for The Ceinture, to feature 54 luxury condo residences. Ground Broken for The Ceinture in South Boston Demolition of an existing commercial structure has started to make way for The Ceinture in South Boston. The new development, just a few blocks from Broadway Station on East Fifth Street, will feature 54 luxury condos. Units will include one bedroom plus dens, two bedrooms, and two bedrooms plus dens. The project will also include 41 parking spaces.  Construction is set to be complete in Spring 2020.

Finegold Alexander Architects Wins AIA New England Design Award for The Lucas The Lucas, designed by Finegold Alexander Architects received an Honor Award at the 2018 AIA New England Design Awards. The Lucas is the transformation of a shuttered 1874 German Trinity Catholic Church. The concept is a building within a building - a steel and glass design that rises out of the massive stone walls to create a 33-unit residential community. The eight-story glass and steel building bursts through the former church’s roof with steel columns continuing the lines of the stone buttresses skyward. The AIA jury noted: “The jury was intrigued by this adaptive reuse project, excited by the move of hollowing out a church and inserting an entirely new building. Reimagining the flying buttress for the twenty-first century could have been corny or clunky; however, these interpretations in steel subtly work. The addition is clearly contemporary, but in deference to the existing structure, a success in preservation.” Each of the 1 to 3-bedroom units are completely individualized, based on unique architectural details.  The existing Victorian Gothic features of the stone walls, tower, and arched windows are seamlessly blended with contemporary glass and steel.  The design team sought to marry the old and new by retaining the architecturally significant landmark’s tracery windows, front doors, and other artifacts. 1240 Beacon Street, a brick 8-unit brownstone in Brookline, sold on February 21, 2018 for $6.160 million. The Property consists of a brick three-story building containing a total of more than 10,000 sf of living area with 8 parking spaces at the rear of the building. The Seller was represented by Mark Pearlstein and Adam Umina of Metro Realty in Brookline. The Buyer was represented by Albert Bouchie of Coldwell Banker Commercial in Belmont.

Construction complete at The Lucas, boutique South End condominium building set within restored church New Boston Ventures has completed construction of The Lucas, a sold-out 33-unit boutique condominium development that has restored and expanded the historic, 1874-built German Trinity Catholic Church. The former church’s facade has been fully reconditioned, and new windows have been installed within its’ original archways. A multi-story addition adorned with a floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall has been constructed above the original church, expertly meshing old and new. Luxury condominium residences have been constructed within the resulting structure, all of which sold out months before The Lucas’ completion. Condominiums feature state-of-the-art finishes; within the original church, condominiums feature unique details such as original arched windows. Facade complete at The Lucas, sold-out South End condominiums set within historic church Restoration of The Lucas' historic church facade and installation of a new glass curtain wall along the building's signature vertical addition are both complete, resulting in a stunning blend of old and new. Along the historic facade, new arched windows have been installed, restoring the former church to its' original glory. Finishing touches to the facade are now underway, in addition to installation of luxurious finishes within the building's common spaces and 33 sold-out condominium residences. The Ceinture, 54 modern luxury condominium residences, coming to South Boston A newly proposed six-story, 54-unit residential building at 20 West 5th Street in South Boston, located steps to Broadway Station, will be called The Ceinture and will feature 54 modern luxury condominium residences. Condominium sales are tentatively scheduled to launch in 2018, pending city approval; construction of The Ceinture is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018, with an expected duration of 18 months. A Project Notification Form (PNF) for The Ceinture has officially been filed with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), who is now reviewing the project. A Letter of Intent (LOI) to file the PNF was filed last April. The Ceinture will feature breakthrough design and distinctive luxury amenities including concierge service, luxury finishes and a common roof deck overlooking the Boston skyline. Facade nears completion at The Lucas, sold-out South End luxury condominiums Work on the facade of the signature multi-story vertical addition to The Lucas is well underway, with installation of the addition’s glass curtain wall nearing completion. Windows have been fitted along all sections of the church’s restored historic structure, and weatherproofing is in place along both the historic structure and the new addition to allow for installation of exterior panels on the remainder of the building. 54 residences proposed next to Broadway Station in South Boston Developers Thomas Broderick and Timothy Russell propose to construct approximately 54 new residences at 20 West Fifth Street in South Boston, steps from the Broadway MBTA Red Line station. Broderick and Russell have filed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to develop the project with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), who is now reviewing the project plans.
