Demo has kicked off in Perkins Square to make way for the upcoming mixed-use project at 480-482 West Broadway, the first casualty, Dunkin Donuts. The site will be cleared to make way for a new 5-story building to include 18 condos and around 4,100 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Building Permit Issued for 480-482 West Broadway
A building permit has been issued for the upcoming mixed-use project in South Boston's Perkins Square. The project is set to include 18 condos along with over 4,100 square feet of ground floor commercial space. A total of three parcels located at the corner of West Broadway and Dorchester Street will be consolidated for this project with existing buildings being demolished.

Caught in Southie reports that last Friday (November 4th, 2016) was the last day of business for the former Dunkin' Donuts, Perkins Supply and Schubert’s retail locations at 482 West Broadway. Schubert's had been in business at 482 West Broadway for nearly 60 years.
BPDA approves 482 West Broadway, 18 new South Boston condos, for construction
At last night's board meeting, the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) approved 482 West Broadway for construction. Located in the heart of South Boston in Perkins Square at the corner of West Broadway and Dorchester Street, the $8.4 million 482 West Broadway will be a new five-story residential building containing 18 condominiums, including two affordable units, and 4,190 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. 482 West Broadway will now go before the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for review. Construction of 482 West Broadway could commence in the second quarter of 2017.
Developer Frank E. Sorrenti proposes a new mixed-use building that would bring a new look to South Boston's Perkins Square. A small project review application was recently submitted to the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
