Site Work Back Underway at 400 Summer St Crews are back to continue site work for the upcoming 16-story lab building coming to 400 Summer Street. Foundation Medicine will occupy all of the lab and office space within the 625,000 square foot building. The project will also include 30,000 square feet of retail space and a new grand public stair connecting Summer and Congress Streets designed by James Corner Field Operations, the landscape architect behind New York’s High Line.

Site Work Begins on Seaport Square Parcel P Site work is underway for the upcoming 626,000 square foot lab/office project at 400 Summer Street.  The Seaport building will be home to Foundation Medicine, who have leased 580K square feet. As part of the project, a new set of stairs including public open space will be built to connect Summer Street down to Congress Street.

$236M Building Permit Pulled for 400 Summer Street Suffolk Construction has pulled a building permit valued at $236M to kick off construction of 400 Summer Street in the Seaport. The upcoming 16 story lab building will feature 625,000 square feet of space including 30,000 square feet of retail space. Foundation Medicine has leased 580,000 square feet of laboratory and office space at the project.  The development will also involve the construction of a grand public stair connecting Summer and Congress Streets.

BPDA Approves NPC For Seaport Square Block N On 11/14 the Boston Planning Board approved the notice of project change for The Seaport Square Block N project. Original plans for the building had called for primarily residential use but the updated project will now include around 38,000 square feet of retail/restaurant and 384,000 square feet of office and research and development space.

NPC Filed for Seaport Square Block N WS Development has filed a notice of project change for Seaport Square Block N, at 350 Summer Street. The NPC calls for a change of use from a primarly residential building to office/lab space. Original plans included 72,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space and 350,000 square feet of residential while the NPC proposes a reduced 38,000 square feet of retail/restaurant and around 384,000 square feet of office and research and development space.

Foundation Medicine Leases 580,000 Square Feet at 400 Summer Street WS Development has announced that Foundation Medicine has leased 580,000 square feet of laboratory and office space at 400 Summer Street, part of the company’s 23-acre Boston Seaport development. “We are honored that Foundation Medicine has chosen 400 Summer Street for their headquarters. Boston’s Seaport has come to serve as the city’s hub for forward-thinking employers, residents, and retailers, and now as a global hub of the life sciences sector. No company better represents the power of innovation than Foundation Medicine and we are proud to welcome them to our neighborhood,” said Jeremy Sclar, President of WS Development. The upcoming 626,000 square foot, 16 story lab/office project at 400 Summer Street. will include a new set of stairs including public open space to connect Summer Street down to Congress Street.

WS Development Plans to Begin Construction on 400 Summer St. Later This Year At yesterday's NAIOP Seaport by Foot Tour event, Yanni Tsipis of WS Development discussed a few of his firm's upcoming projects in Seaport Square. With work underway for Amazon's future home at Seaport Square Block L4, WS expects to begin construction on Parcel P next, later this year. Parcel P, or 400 Summer Street, will include over 600,000 square feet of lab space and is aesthetically designed to connect Fort Point's industrial style with The Seaport. As part of the 400 Summer Street project, WS will be building a new connection between Summer and Congress Streets. These gorgeous new stairs will include public space and allow for a much more pleasant pedestrian connection than the current A Street Stair option.
