Cunard Tavern restaurant opening Thursday in East Boston’s new 47 Webster Street mixed-use building
The much-anticipated Cunard Tavern restaurant, which will feature one of East Boston’s first outdoor rooftop bars, will open this Thursday at the new 47 Webster Street mixed-use building steps from the East Boston Waterfront. Cunard Tavern will serve a diverse mix of local and international cuisine, along with 10 craft beer draft lines and other exquisite drinks. The Point East Boston Barre & Yoga, East Boston’s first yoga studio, has opened at 47 Webster Street, and the building’s four apartment residences are now complete and leasing. The four-story 47 Webster Street features 11,560 square feet of housing and retail space located in East Boston’s rapidly-developing Jeffries Point neighborhood a short walk to the MBTA Blue Line with direct service to Downtown Boston. Cunard Tavern, a new restaurant featuring a diverse mix of local and international cuisine, will open this month at 47 Webster Street, a newly built mixed-use building in East Boston located steps to Boston Harbor. Boston Magazine reports that Cunard Tavern will serve unique plates including “octopus dumplings doused with ginger, chopped scallions, and sesame glaze; tuna crudo prepared Sicilian-style with fennel and citrus vinaigrette; and beignets filled with Somerville’s own Marshmallow Fluff.” Drinks will include whiskey, house cocktails and 10 craft beer draft lines.47 Webster Street’s facade has been fully installed, and fit out of Cunard Tavern as well as the building's yoga studio (The Point East Boston) and four apartment residences is just about complete. 47 Webster nearly complete as Cunard Tavern approaches Spring 2017 opening
Interior finishing is underway at all four levels of East Boston’s 47 Webster in preparation for the Spring 2017 opening of the Cunard Tavern restaurant and occupancy of 47 Webster’s yoga studio and four residential units. Exterior construction at 47 Webster in East Boston is nearing completion, with brick and wood finishes fully installed along the building’s facade. The construction crew is now working to install exterior panel cladding on the building’s upper level. The following are photographs of 47 Webster:

Windows, moisture-resistant cladding and fireproofing have been installed along the building's entire four-story shell, which is fully topped off. Cunard Tavern, 47 Webster's signature restaurant, will open in November and was recently named one of the Boston Globe's 20 most exciting restaurants opening this fall. Cunard Tavern, the work of local Ducali and Lucia restaurateur and 47 Webster developer Philip Frattaroli, will serve "traditional pub food” and feature 65 seats with a 35-seat roof deck. Foundation excavations by Sean Farrell Excavation, Inc. are just about complete at 47 Webster. The new-construction building will contain four residential units and a retail space that will house a new neighborhood restaurant, Cunard Tavern.
