Core Rising for Garden Garage The concrete core is beginning to climb for the Garden Garage project located at 33 Lomansey Way in Boston's Bulfinch Triangle. The upcoming 44-story mixed-use tower will feature 469 apartment units with an array of amenities, retail space on the ground floor, and 830 parking spaces. The project is slated to open late 2021.

Foundation In Place and Work Begins on the Core for Garden Garage Tower The foundation for the 44 story Garden Garage Tower is in place and work has also started on the core of the building. The West End Tower will feature 469 apartments along with 20,000 square feet of amenity space, and 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail. The new parking garage under the tower will hold around 830 spaces. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2021.

Early Stage Site Work Underway for Phase II of Innovation Square Early-stage site work is now underway for the second building at Innovation Square in the Seaport.  Phase II will feature 260,000 square feet of state-of-the-art lab space and is set to be complete in the first quarter of 2021. Phase I of the project features a four-story, 125,000 square foot building anchored by a two-floor, 54,000-square-foot office for Mass Innovation Labs.

Tower Crane in Place for Garden Garage A tower crane is now in place at the Garden Garage site as blasting continues for ledge removal and concrete footings are being put in place. The Equity Residential project is set to feature 469 residential units in the 44 story tower. Under the tower will be a new parking garage to hold around 830 spaces. Construction is set to run through late 2021.

Harrison Street and Bulfinch Partner to Acquire Osborn Triangle Harrison Street and Bulfinch have partnered to purchase Osborn Triangle for over $1 Billion. Osborn Triangle is located adjacent to MIT’s campus and consists of three buildings. 610 Main Street North, 1 Portland Street, and 700 Main Street. The property features 676,917 square feet of Lab, Office, and Retail space. Additionally, there is a 650-space parking garage associated with the property. The buildings have all been recently renovated or built and feature an array of retail stores on the ground level.

Crews Prep Garden Garage Site for Ledge Removal Crews continue work on the install of temporary bracing and soil removal at the site of the former Garden Garage. Ledge removal is expected to start within the coming days. The upcoming 44-story tower is set to include 469 apartments along with 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail The development will also include around 20,000 square feet of common resident amenities and an underground parking garage to hold 830 cars. Construction is expected to wrap up in the 4th quarter of 2021.

Notice of Project Change at Innovation Square The developers of Innovation Square at 6 Tide Street in Boston's Seaport District have filed a notice of project change for the project. The proposed changes would add 10,000 square feet of local retail, restaurant, and services space along Northern Avenue, as well as 45 parking spaces. Amenities at Innovation Square will include a collaboration center, a fitness center, and green space. Innovation Square will feature 60 on-site parking spaces, in addition to bicycle storage. The building will feature on-site rapid transit access and is located across from Harpoon Brewery, minutes from Downtown Boston, Logan Airport and Interstates 90 and 93. Work Underway for Slurry Wall at Garden Garage With the remnants of the old garage out of the way, work is underway to install the 53-panel slurry wall for the upcoming 44-story tower on the site.  The new building is set to house 469 apartments along with 20,000 square feet of resident amenities and 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail. The project will also include a new underground garage with over 800 spaces an increase from the previous garage's capacity. Construction is set to be complete in 2021.

Interior Work Underway on Phase One at Innovation Square Interior work is underway at phase one and the control system is being installed for the first building in the Seaport's Innovation Square development. The first building comprises 125,000 square feet and will be home to the Mass. Innovation Labs.  Construction on phase one is set to be complete in the first quarter of 2019. Phase Two of the project will add another 250,000 square foot building of cutting-edge lab space to the project. Innovation Square will also offer bike storage, on-campus fitness, a collaboration center, on-site restaurants, and private roof decks overlooking Boston Harbor.

Grand Opening of MGM Springfield The MGM Springfield opened its doors on Friday (8/24) to a crowd of people ready to try their luck in the new Massachusetts casino. The $960 million casino and entertainment venue totaling 759,157 square-feet includes a 151,861 square-foot 25-story 250-room hotel to go along with a 126,262 square-foot gaming floor with 2,550 slot machines, 120 gaming tables, a poker room and a “high-limit” gaming area. The new attraction is poised to bring revenue and rejuvenation to the city of Springfield as it aims to build around the success of the resort casino. The casino is expected to attract people from a 75-mile radius around Springfield and within a 90-minute drive. MGM expects about a third of those to come north on I-91, drawing heavily on the north central area of Connecticut.

Plumbing Permit Issued for Upcoming High Rise A plumbing permit has been issued for the Garden Garage development, including the installation of plumbing fixtures, plumbing equipment, and all associated piping throughout the P5 Garage Level through the 47th floor (roof). The development will consist of the replacement of existing 650-space parking garage with a 469-unit residential apartment tower. The tower will include approximately 20,000 square feet of common resident amenities and approximately 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
