5 Projects Advance in Boston Including 3 Building Fort Point Mixed Use Development
Five projects featuring a total of 1,472,082 square-feet of space and 378 units have been approved for development in Boston. Approved projects include an IMP project at the Berklee School of Music as well as the 1 million+ SF 244-284 A Street project in the Seaport. Additionally, a notice of project change was approved in East Boston. Check out the entire list of approved projects below.
A Roxbury-based property developer has won approval for a multifamily development at 120 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester. Plans call for a 5-story residential building featuring 35 single-room units.
Camber Development has won approval for a redevelopment of a 5-building portfolio in Boston's South End between Wareham and Plympton streets. Plans call for a 5-story life science building featuring 79,600 square feet of lab/research floorspace.
RISE Construction Management & RISE Together was granted a notice of project change for the Mount Carmel development in East Boston. Approved in 2019 with site-work on going, changes call for the conversion of 94 condominium units into rental apartments. The project will feature a two-phase redevelopment featuring 108 units and 114,565 SF of floorspace.
Plans have been greenlit for a new dormitory fit-out of 12 Hemenway Street in Fenway. Now under review, plans call for 111 new beds across 63 units and 30,400 square feet of floorspace for Berklee.
Related Beal has won approval for their planned 1,098,292 SF mixed-use development at 244-284 A Street in South Boston's Fort Point neighborhood. Plans include a 3-building development featuring a 17-story residential tower with 357,807 square feet of space and 370 units, a 13-story office building featuring 321,404 square feet of class-A space, and an 8-story Lab/R&D building that will include approximately 419,081 square feet of research space.
Cronin Development has won approval for a lab development at 24 Drydock Avenue in the Seaport. Plans call for an 8-story, 235,500 SF research building featuring marine industrial, laboratory/research, and office space.
