9-Story Multifamily Project Tops Out in Gowanus

General contractor, , has topped out the concrete superstructure of a 9-story, mixed-use project, going up at 585 Union Street (aka 577 Union Street) in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Jointly developed by Tavros CapitalCharney Companies, and Canyon Partners, the building will contain rental apartments, with approximately 25% of the units dedicated to affordable housing. Residences will be offered in studio, and one to three-bedroom configurations.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center and a rooftop deck, with a swimming pool. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, as well as an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , the structure stands feet tall and totals square feet.

The project site measures square feet and is bound by Union Street, 3rd Avenue, and Sackett Street.

The project is expected to cost around $164.7 million. Of this sum, $107 million has been obtained through a construction loan, issued by Pacific Western Bank.
