Hilton Tempo Update 08/30/22

A Year Extension Granted for Downtown Fort Myers Hotel Construction

Construction on the Hilton Tempo in downtown Fort Myers will start a year later than originally planned.  The developer, ERES Capital, requested the extension from the City of Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency and the agency granted the request.  Originally the groundbreaking was set for September 2022, with completion in December 2024 and the property was slated to be a Marriott Hotel.  Since the original plan, the development changed ownership in January 2022 and the hotel franchise was switched from a Marriott to a Hilton. With the change of franchises and the extra time, the developer will work with its team to tailor the design more to Fort Myers.  The proposed nine-story hotel will rise in downtown Fort Myers and will feature 140 rooms.  The hotel will be constructed on the only developable site on First Street, which is downtown, historic Fort Myers’ main corridor of restaurants, shopping and nightlife.  The hotel will feature ground floor restaurant space and bar area.  The second floor will include meeting and multiple venues for events such as weddings, small conferences.  The rooftop will have a pool and lounge area along with an indoor fitness center.  Groundbreaking is now expected in September 2023 with completion in December 2024.
