Affordable Housing Community Proposed in Clearwater
A developer has submitted a re-zoning request for a new affordable housing community in Clearwater. The plans on the 1.18-acre site show a 40-unit development in a three-story building. Of the 40 units, 10 will be designated for households that make no more than 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The apartments will be a mix of one and two-bedroom units, plans show 43 parking spaces along with a bike rack. The property is currently zoned commercial, which allows for building 24 residential units. The number of affordable housing units is 25%, which would allow for up to 42 residential units. The Clearwater Review Commission will review the plans on April 6.
