1057 Atlantic Avenue Update 10/06/21

Atlantic Avenue Development One Step Closer to Approval

A large mixed-use development, being proposed for 1045 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, is quickly moving through the regulatory process. The application submitted by Atlantic Brooklyn LLC requests zoning map and text amendments to facilitate a new 17-story building. The structure will contain 426 residential units and 63,000 sqft of commercial space. Totem is the developer behind the project, and Dencityworks Architecture is responsible for its design.

At this point in time, the City Planning Commission has voted on the application, and it should soon be sent to the City Council. The City Council will have 50 days to call up the application, hold a hearing, and vote on it. Once that has happened, the Mayor's Office will have 5 days to review the City Council's decision and can either give the project a final seal of approval or issue a veto.
