Bronx Retail Property Sells for $44.87M Ahead of Repositioning
A 1-story, commercial building, located at 1720 Eastchester Road in the Bronx's Pelham Bay neighborhood, has just traded hands for $44.87 million. The structure was purchased by Simone Development Companies from the previous owner, Madison International Realty, in a deal brokered by Newmark Group and Cushman & Wakefield.
Spanning 62,660 square feet, the structure currently contains a Stop & Shop supermarket and a liquor store. The property also has 250 parking spaces, located on the roof and at ground level.
The lot spans 139,285 square feet and offers 334,284 buildable square feet. Simone Development Companies plans to reposition the property as a state-of-the-art distribution and logistics center. With this plan, the existing structure is to be maintained, although modifications will likely be needed.
