Deep Foundation Work Underway for Northwell Medical Pavilion on UES
Approximately 1 and 2 stories below street level, deep foundation work is ongoing at 1345 3rd Avenue on Manhattan's Upper East Side. With concrete already poured in some areas and excavation still progressing in other spots, this sturdy base will sit beneath 2-cellar levels and a 16-story structure on top of that.
Developed by , the new development set to arise from this giant hole in the ground is a state-of-the-art medical facility, known as "Northwell Medical Pavilion".
Run by the Northwell Health Cancer Institute and serving as an outpatient care facility, the building will provide specialized care for numerous cancer types, including breast, gastrointestinal, colorectal, gynecologic oncology, head and neck, neurosurgery, and thoracic.
In addition, the facility will provide imaging and lab testing, cardiac care, acute and chronic disease management, neuroscience programs, social work services, and a sleep study center.
Designed by , Northwell Medical Pavilion will ultimately stand feet tall and total square feet. is the general contractor for the project and construction is anticipated to finish by the spring of 2026.
