Bakery Loft Apartments Update 06/30/22

Demolition started for the tallest new construction building in Shockoe Bottom

Demolition has recently commenced at the old Weimans Bakery building at 127 N. 17th St. Local developer Louis Salomonsky and his team has plans to build a 135-foot-tall mixed-use apartment building. The structure will provide the neighborhood with 212 apartment units and the first 2 floors of the building will be 5100 sqft of commercial space.  Salomonsky purchased the land at 127 n 17th St as well as the parcel at 1715 E. Grace St allowing more space for the planned building originally under review in May 2021. The original proposal featured a 2-floor parking deck and 145 apartments. The new plan offers 213 parking spaces in an attached 5-story parking garage and will include a green space amenity, a dog park, plants, grills, and games. A ground-floor pool would be located at the center of the development with additional amenities.
