Devs Planning 24-Story Residential Project in East Village
Madison Realty Capital has announced plans to jointly develop a 24-story residential tower in East Village with L+M Development Partners and the New York City Housing Authority. Proposed for a vacant corner lot at 644 East 14th Street, it would total square feet.
With square feet of residential space planned, the tower would offer apartment units. Most of these would be sold at market rate prices, however, 30% would be set aside for affordable housing.
Totaling slightly over 10,000 square feet, the project site has been vacant and unimproved for around 6 or 7 years. Madison Realty Capital purchased the lot from Opal Holdings in 2020 for $31.3 million, but a non-ULURP zoning modification has been requested because it wouldn't be possible to build the proposed development as of right.
