Dual-Tower Mixed-Use Project Tops Out in Gowanus

General contractor, , and concrete superstructure specialist, RC Structures, have topped out a dual-tower, mixed-use development, at 420 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Developed by The Domain Companies, the buildings consist of a taller, 21-story tower, and a shorter, 16-story structure. Combined, the towers are set to contain residential units. Although these will primarily be offered at market rate, a select amount of units will be dedicated to affordable housing.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a resident lounge, several outdoor terraces, a co-working area, a children’s playroom, and a bike storage facility. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, an enclosed parking garage (with enough room for vehicles), and 7,700 square feet of community facility space. To top it all off, the property will have a large, outdoor plaza, stretching along the Gowanus Canal, complete with green spaces and seating areas.

Designed by , 420 Carroll Street stands feet tall and totals square feet. The development has been designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

Construction is being financed by a $176 million loan, which was issued by Bank OZK last summer. Work is ultimately expected to finish by the spring of 2025.
