East Flatbush Storage Facility Disapproved
An application for a 5-story self-storage facility, proposed at 5381 Kings Highway in Brooklyn's East Flatbush neighborhood, has failed to gain approval from the City Planning Commission (CPC).
Since November of 2021, the applicant, , has been seeking a special permit for the project. In that time, the entity has also filed four Environmental Assessment Statements, as well as two Land Use Applications.
This verdict means that unfortunately, the project team will either have to go back to the drawing board or axe the project altogether.
If approved, the building would have stood feet tall and totaled square feet. It would have also featured 12 parking spaces and 6-loading berths. was tasked with leading the design efforts.
Having sat vacant for years, the square foot lot has no street frontage, apart from a gated access driveway, and a rear entrance. The property is unimproved and currently used as a parking lot.
