Expansion of Bal Harbour Shops to Include Market Rate and Workforce Housing
Miami-Based Whitman Family Development has submitted plans for a new mixed-use development within Bal Harbour Shops. The expansion will add 600 residential units, a 70-room upscale hotel and 45,700 square feet of retail space. Of the 600 residential units, 40% will be designated for workforce housing. Community amenities of the residential component will include a pool, resident lounge, fitness center and outdoor recreation areas. The development will be constructed in phases, beginning with the workforce housing tower, then followed by the luxury residential component and the boutique hotel. Bal Harbour Shops currently hosts over 100 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
