Facade Work Wrapping Up at The Brooklyn Tower

Facade work is slowly beginning to wrap up at 9 DeKalb Avenue; a 74-floor (93-story) tower, that recently became the tallest structure in the entire borough of Brooklyn.

Known as "The Brooklyn Tower", it is being developed and constructed by , and will contain residences. These will be a mix of apartments, condos, and affordable housing units.

The development will offer over 120,000 square feet of tenant amenities, including three-outdoor pools, a poolside lounge and cocktail bar, a fitness center with a 75’ indoor lap pool and whirlpool, a private dining room with a catering kitchen, a game and billiards room, a movie theatre, a library, and a co-working space with a conference room.

The tower is also connected on the ground floor to the historic, Dime Savings Bank, which will contain nearly 100,000 square feet of retail space.

Designed by , The Brooklyn Tower stands feet tall and totals square feet. The building is now essentially the defining landmark of Downtown Brooklyn and can be seen easily from many miles away.

The tower's glass exterior, which is embedded with prominent copper trim pieces, not only makes it a thing of beauty but also creates an arguably iconic look that combines modern design language with New York's renowned art-deco style.

At this time, facade work has mostly finished on the main superstructure, although plenty of cladding material still needs to be installed on the bottom few floors. Construction is expected to finish within the next 6-8 months, assuming all goes according to plan.
