Foundation Work Underway for Lynbrook's New Transit-Oriented Development

Utilizing the manpower and expertise of CIP Concrete Group, general contractor, KL Masters, is now constructing the foundation of a 6-story, transit-oriented apartment complex, at 47 Broadway in the Long Island town of Lynbrook.

Rebar cages for the structural support columns have now been set, and the team is currently in the process of pouring concrete for the foundation's grade beams.

Known as "The Langdon", the building will sit right next to the Lynbrook LIRR station, replacing the Mangrove Feather factory, which prior to its demolition, had sat dormant since 2008.

Jointly developed by Breslin Realty Development Corp and Field Grades Development, it will contain rental apartments, offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. Most of these units will be sold at market rate, although 10% are to be set aside for affordable housing programs.

In addition to residential units, The Langdon will offer square feet of retail space, located on the ground floor. Plans also call for an enclosed, two-story parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , the structure will total square feet. Over the past few months, construction has really started to ramp up at the site, and progress is expected to continue at an even more rapid pace, once superstructure pours commence.

The project is ultimately estimated to finish by the summer of 2024, although based on the current state of progress, it seems more realistic that work will wrap up closer to the end of next year.
