New Transit-Oriented Development Tops Out in Lynbrook

General contractor, KL Masters, has topped out the wooden superstructure of a 6-story, transit-oriented apartment complex, going up at 47 Broadway in the Long Island town of Lynbrook.

Known as "The Langdon", the building will sit right next to the Lynbrook LIRR station, replacing the Mangrove Feather factory, which prior to its demolition, had sat dormant since 2008.

Jointly developed by Breslin Realty Development Corp and Field Grades Development, it will contain rental apartments, offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. Most of these units will be sold at market rate, although 10% are to be set aside for affordable housing programs.

In addition to residential units, The Langdon will offer square feet of retail space, located on the ground floor. Plans also call for an enclosed, two-story parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , the structure will total square feet. The project is ultimately estimated to finish this summer, although based on the current state of progress, it seems more realistic that work will wrap up closer to the end of the year.
