Further Progress for Prospect Heights Mixed-Use Project
A 17-story mixed-use development, proposed for 870-888 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood is quickly progressing through the public review process. Several months ago, Y&T Development LLC, submitted an application to the NYC Department of Planning, which requested zoning map and text amendments as well as a special permit. These will be needed in order to facilitate the new building, which is planned to contain 228 residential units (including 69 affordable housing units) and almost 15,000 square feet of retail. A total of eight separate lots would have to be combined and rezoned if the project is ultimately given the green light.
Since our last update, the application was reviewed and approved by both the Community Board and the Borough President. Just recently, the City Planning Commission (CPC) had their turn to review it as well, however, they still need to vote on the application before it can be sent to the City Council.
