House of Ruth Planning 40 Units in Fairlawn
House of Ruth has proposed a 40-unit multifamily building along Minnesota Ave. in Fairlawn. The site is currently improved with two residential buildings at the end of their useful life that would be razed for the new project. Every unit in the new building will house women and families directly impacted by domestic violence. Based on the applicant’s existing residential communities House of Ruth anticipates residents will be between 0 and 30% of the Median Family Income. The project will also include green space, a courtyard, and a play area for children. In total, the Project will replace 27 existing and outdated units with 40 new and modern units, all to serve a vulnerable population in the District.
