Indigo Block Update 04/10/18

Indigo Block on Track for 2018

The Indigo Block Redevelopment in Dorchester is supposed to break ground in the near future. The mixed-use development will consist of 92 residential units.  80 of these units will be rental apartments.  Rental apartments will total 85,000 square feet.  There will also be 9 market rate homeownership units.  For-sale units will span 18,000 square feet.  In addition to residential space, the development will have a 20,000 square foot commercial building with a 3,400 square foot mezzanine.

The residential apartments will feature a variety of amenities.  Parking will be located in a surface lot right next to the building.  Among the other amenities proposed for the apartment building are a fitness center and an innovation workroom that will have WiFi and workstations for residents’ use.  Zipcar access and bike storage will also be available to residents.

The Indigo Block Redevelopment is located in the historic Uphams Corner neighborhood of Dorchester. Conveniently situated close to public transportation, the development is within close proximity to MBTA bus lines and the Uphams Corner stop on the MBTA Fairmont Line Commuter Rail.

The project remains on schedule using Touchplan, a construction software that allows developers to plan, implement, and monitor projects in their entirety. The innovative software gives developers the ability to see the full spectrum of their project down to every last detail. Touchplan has let developers keep their projects on or ahead of time leading to lower costs and more efficient construction.
