Luxury Apartment Project Set to Rise in Jersey City
An 8-story residential project, known as "The Devan", is just about to rise at 3 New York Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Developed as a joint venture between Ursa Development Group and Fields Grade Development, the building is set to contain luxury apartment units. These will be available in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations.
In addition to residential units, the structure will have an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles. General contractor, , has already begun constructing this garage, which will ultimately compose the bottom floor.
The building's main structural elements are to consist of Hambro floor joists, provided by Swirnow Building Systems, and steel stud load-bearing wall panels, from American Panel Tec. Swirnow states that "The Hambro system does not utilize a metal deck, which results in significant cost savings", further adding that its superior fire and sound ratings are an added benefit.
Designed by Minno & Wasko, The Devan will total approximately square feet. The development will be transit-oriented, and the site sits just a few blocks from NJ Transit's 2nd Street Light Rail station. Located just west of the Hoboken border, it will also be fairly close to the regional rail, PATH train, and ferry services at Hoboken Terminal.
