The Devan Completes in Jersey City
General contractor, , has fully completed construction on an 8-story, residential building, known as "The Devan", located at 3 New York Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Developed as a joint venture between Ursa Development Group and Fields Grade Development, the building contains luxury apartments. Units are available in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations.
Tenant amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center with a yoga studio and a meditation room, a resident lounge, a library, coworking and conference spaces, a courtyard with a sundeck, a recreation and poker room, a flexible media space, a children's playroom, a dog run, and a package holding area. In addition to residential units, the structure features an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The building's main structural elements consist of Hambro floor joists, provided by Swirnow Building Systems, and steel stud load-bearing wall panels, from American Panel Tec. Swirnow states that "The Hambro system does not utilize a metal deck, which results in significant cost savings", further adding that its superior fire and sound ratings are an added benefit.
Designed by Minno & Wasko, The Devan totals approximately square feet. The transit-oriented development sits just a few blocks from NJ Transit's 2nd Street Light Rail station. Located just west of the Hoboken border, it is also fairly close to the regional rail, PATH train, and ferry services at Hoboken Terminal.
