Permits Filed for 16-Story Residential Building in West Village
Building permits have just been filed for a 16-story, residential development, at 180 Christopher Street in Manhattan's West Village. Developed by a non-profit organization known as , the building is set to contain rental apartments, likely for individuals living with AIDS/HIV and/or for those experiencing homelessness.
Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet. An existing, 6-story residential building (known as Bailey House and currently used by Housing Works for congregate housing), would have to be demolished in order to make way for the new development.
