Progress for Arverne Senior Housing Development
A rezoning proposal for Beach 67th Street in Arverne, Queens, is almost through the public review stage. Submitted by, Brisa Builders Development LLC, the proposal requests zoning map and text amendments to facilitate an AIRS (Affordable Independent Residences for Seniors) facility. The 84-unit building would be developed by Brisa Evergreen LLC, and designed by Think Architecture & Design. Also included in the proposal are plans for a community facility, coming in the form of a charter school. Currently, the proposal is under review by the City Council. If approved, the project will be passed over to the mayor who will have the final say before zoning permits are granted.
