Progress for Midtown Office Redevelopment
An application relating to special permits for 415 Madison Avenue in Midtown has proceeded to the next step in the public review process. It is now being evaluated by the City Planning Commission, who will soon have to vote on the matter. After the vote, the application will then be sent to the City Council for further review. 415 Madison Avenue LLC is seeking permits in order to facilitate the redevelopment of an existing office building occupying the site. Exact plans are still up in the air, but the proposal calls for the building to be torn down in order to pave way for a 40-story, 287,180 square-foot tower. This would make it the latest new development conceived as part of the Greater East Midtown rezoning plan.
