Renderings Revealed for Redevelopment of Historic Arva Motel
Plans have been unveiled for the former site of the historic Arva Motor Hotel built in 1955. Shooshan Development acquired the site and has plans to replace the existing Days Inn Hotel, with an eight-story, multifamily with 3,000 sf. of retail. original plans called for 262 units, but in the most recent submission, have been reduced to 251.
Plans call for an underground garage, an open courtyard, a fitness area, and an outdoor pool. The plans called for the original lobby and blade sign from the hotel be preserved, however, this won’t be possible because of durability issues.
“The architecture, landscaping, and homage to the site's history will help create a distinctive corner and complete the "gateway” into the neighborhood,” documentation said.
The development will also see a transformation of Wainwright Road into a greenway leading to the Arlington Boulevard Trail network.
